Hi, I’m Karen

I’m a farm wife, mama to 3 little boys, lover of all things natural and an advocate for loving the home you’re in!

I can remember watching Trading Spaces at 8 years old thinking,“I’m going to do that some day.” I rearranged my bedroom so many times and drew countless floor plans of dream homes I hoped to create one day. Even my 4-H projects were room makeovers complete with psychedelic color schemes, stenciled walls and 5-piece bedding sets in a bag.

I’ve come a long way.

After graduating with my Bachelor’s in Interior Design, I interned in Nashville, TN at an award-winning firm, Anderson Design Studio and loved it! However, I was also dating my husband at the time, who was a farmer with deep roots in rural Illinois. As much as I loved the big city experience I mostly wanted to live a simple, fulfilling life with a few kids, cows and a farmer for a husband.

After I had moved back, I was longing for that creative outlet. I knew there were others just like me, who longed for the simple life away from the hustle and bustle.

Those who lived in practical, perfectly imperfect homes, raising their families and sharing it with those they loved.

I knew I could serve others in this way, creating spaces that would serve as the backdrop for their lives.

Life is too short to live in a home that does not inspire you or enhance the memories being made there.

I began with an early love for design, a formal education and years of trial and error in designing our own farmhouse.

I understand the need for a home that you’re proud of that can also keep up with the busy, demanding lifestyle so many of us lead. Life is too short to live in a home that isn’t an expression of you, your family or your lifestyle.

If you’re ready to create a home you can be proud of, I cannot wait to meet!

XOXO, Karen
